Who is Regina?
I was working in the nonprofit space, working with the community, but I wasn’t fulfilled. I wanted something more. I decided to pursue a graduate degree in design. Illinois Tech’s rigorous degree program was appealing, as was its dual-degree program with business, which has allowed me to widen the scope on my potential career. But I’ve gotten so much more during my time here. Beyond the skills and confidence that the design program has instilled in me, I am in a founder’s program and am exploring the option to be an entrepreneur as I continue to reinvent my career and myself.
That’s Interesting
My first semester, we did a lot of prototyping for our product design workshop. I came up with an idea for people who are sensitive to environmental stimulation. I created a product that goes on your head, that was supposed to help people who deal with a lot of overstimulation. I was like, ‘It seems like an interesting concept. People seem to be genuinely interested in it.’ So I signed up for the founder’s program. And I got in.
