Who is Cedric?
I wanted to elevate my career. I had earned an associate’s degree, and I was looking at multiple schools in my hometown, Chicago, to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Illinois Tech’s technology focus offered the path I was looking for—and I have gotten so much more. I’m pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees, all while getting unique, hands-on opportunities. These have allowed me to make real-world impact in Kosovo through a study abroad trip, to conduct research thanks to real-world partners such as Motorola, and to earn the prestigious SMART scholarship from the U.S. Department of Defense.
That’s Interesting
In Kosovo I interned with local cybersecurity firms and local governing bodies in order to reshape the way that they approached their security measures and their governance frameworks. Through that, I was not only able to immerse myself within the surrounding Balkan region, but it also gave me real-world experience as to what it means to be a cybersecurity professional
