Who is Adam
I knew about Illinois Tech when I started thinking about college—my sister was already a student here. But what sold me on Illinois Tech was its dual-admission program with Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Camras Scholars program. I got accepted into both, and I haven’t looked back. I've gotten personalized mentorship from professors in my major and from my adviser in the pre-health/pre-med program, served as a leader in two health care-related student organizations, and got a multitude of opportunities to work in the lab and to shadow doctors in Chicago, all of which has me confident of my next step: medical school.
That’s Interesting
I went on a service-learning trip through the MEDLIFE student org to Lima, Peru, in the summer after my first year. We went to set up mobile clinics. We helped the native population there who didn’t have the best access to health care at the time. We helped with triage. A lot of us weren’t Spanish speaking, so we just helped where we could, setting up and assisting the doctors while they did the real work. And then at the end of the day, we helped take down the clinics and move on to the next site.
